Friday the 13th

In many parts of the world, especially in Europe, the number thirteen is very unlucky. Many people believe that this is because, according to the Bible, there were thirteen people present at the Last Supper. However, the superstition is older than that event, and the ancient Romans disliked thirteen as much as we do today.

The thirteenth of the month is not a good day to start anything new or to travel. But it is much worse if the thirteenth is on a Friday. Many people believe that the unluckiest day of all is Friday, May 13th. But nobody really knows where this superstition came from.
