Independence Day celebrations

Independence Day is on 4th July and it is the national holiday in the United States. It is the American birthday. On 4th July 1776, in Philadelphia, the United States signed the Declaration of Independence from England.

On Independence Day, it is traditional to have picnics and barbecues. There are also parades with music and fireworks. One very big and popular firework display is in Washington.

In the United States on July 4th:

there are fireworks in many different cities.
